  • Help me identify this Jackson Warrior

Hi, in search of my new instrument I decided to go with Jackson guitars. Seller offered me Jackson WRXT 1997 Made in Japan. Now judging by this pictures I was wondering if someone can tell me is this guitar legit, and is this from 1997 or from which year?

Thanks in advance for fast reply.

That's a Japanese WRXT from circa 2004. I have 9720xxx on my list stamped 2004 in the neck pocket. You can remove you neck and check your stamps if you're curious. Those serials can be inconsistent.

Looks to be in great shape. They sold new in the $450-550 ballpark in the mid 2000's and can be found on craigslists for under $300 frequently.
I'd go as high as $350 for one in great shape if I wanted a Warrior and didn't think I could find one cheaper. That has the same tremolo, JT580LP, that came on the higher priced pro series at that time. And, they were listed as alder, same as the pros, until they went with basswood in 2006.

The used market is flooded with guitars resulting in stupid low prices if you're patient. It kinda' skews the proper (in my opinion) value of guitars.
That guitar would sell new today for $6-700 and I have no problem saying they're capable of being a $400 used guitar realistically.
    96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.
