Looks fake. Headstock shape is wrong, weird scallop in the lower horn cutaway, control cavity shape is off.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

More pictures help finding the truth about fake or not?

A lot does not look right on that guitar. First and foremost it is a 24 fret neck. Isn’t the DK1 the only Dinky with 24 feets? Body shape seems off. Headstock does not look right. Lower horn does not look right. The color of the logo... I have never seen that color before. It is also in pretty rough shape.

If this were a custom shop guitar some of this might make sense, but the length of the serial number on the neck plate eliminates that possibilty. I would pass on this guitar.

No, plenty of Dinkies actually have 24 frets.

Holy shit. I know the RR shape is called an "offset V" style, but this is ridiculous. It's REALLY offset and lopsided.

Yeah, that looks off. I wonder if its forced perspective making it look like that or if its really odd shaped

My advice would be keep searching and walk away from these.
                    96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

Fakes are usually easy to spot from a poorly shaped headstock, body or control cavity shape.
I can't be 100% sure with these pics, but they look a bit off.

I think it's great that you are actively learning why these two guitars are fake. That being said, always please feel free to approach us with questions. We're all here to help each other.

A question for you. Where did you find these guitars?
