Grabbed a used COW model Dinky in desert camo.
Quite pleased with how it sounds and plays.
Ebony board is nice and I dig the fact it has no fret markers.

I know they were introduced in 2005 approx but curious what years they were made.
Neck plate first digits are 97 so at least a MIJ guitar.
I would post a pic but seems I can't post pics on here anymore.
    Really? well screw Mark Twain.

The last pricelist listing them was 2009. The last listing the Camo on a 6 string was 2006. There was no 2007 catalogue or pricelist.
So, you're looking at late '04-'07 no doubt. The numbers hit 9800000 before the end of 2007.
I can narrow it down with the first 4 digits of the serial.
    96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

Not sure what you mean when you say you can't post pics here any more. Most JCFers still use external hosts to upload and share their images. The major difference is that recently Photobucket stopped being a reliable host: https://www.jcfonline.com/threads/15...om-quot-(P500)

Personally I use www.Imgur.com, but I know others use their Google Photos account, Imageshack, Tinypic, etc. There are plenty of free ones available: https://www.google.ca/search?newwind....0.Nptb8z0fcw4

9734xxx should be late '04 or 2005 taking into consideration 9728xxx was pocket stamped Oct. 2004.
          96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

Gave it a good cleaning and a killer set up and holy shit its a great guitar.
The slick ebony fingerboard plays like butter now that the frets got polished.
The body and neck are mahogany and at 6.2 lbs its a joy to hang off your shoulder and play.
Not an EMG guy but this 81 is just perfect in this guitar so no need to change a thing.
The tone is thick even with the 81 and I wasn't expecting that.
Its one of those guitars that is going to be hard to sell in the future it really is that good.
I may add to the graphic at some point some lines and rivets or some kind of WWII tank graphic
                Really? well screw Mark Twain.

Sounds like you have a winner! Cant beat it for a no bs guitar...........I have always loved the 1 pickup and 1 volume knob. Ive been an emg guy for a long time so this model worked out great for me. I am an older guy and and am not familiar with the fear factory band or the guitar player that Jackson built this for........but it is a great guitar! I enjoy heavy music for the most part but I do enjoy rolling the volume knob down.......Glad you are enjoying yours!

I am an older guy too had have no idea who the artist is and can't say I have ever hear Fear factory. The name of the band is stupid IMO.
His choice in guitars is bad ass tho'.
I remember seeing these guitars when they came out and wasn't impressed all that much with the looks of it.
Figured they were a decent guitar for the most part.
Snagging this one for under $200 made it a no brainer deal to me.
One hum,TOM bridge ebony board, reverse pointy head whats not to love about it?

Under $200 is a killer deal! The best recent price I've seen in Canada for a COW6 was basically the same price which qualifies for one of my "deal alert" deal sharing posts: https://www.jcfonline.com/threads/15...-HSC-(CAD-250)

Those are great guitars... it's sad how Jackson is so diluted and the market for them is so dead that you can get one for under $200. Those are a steal at that price. Grats!

The cartoon camo is the only thing not to love about it!

Nice score for the money, though.

Yeah the camo graphic is pretty lame but I will have that fixed here pretty soon I'm sure.
Absolute killer player is the best way to describe it.

If I got one of those, I'd love to strip it and oil it. Tung oiled mahogany is awesome.
