  • what´s the year of this Jackson Professional ?

Hi, have a Jackson Professional Dinky XL made in Japan with the serial number 702707, what is the year of this guitar?
    thanks

It's a '97 serial, but I can't see the pic to determine if the serial matches the model.
You need to post pics on a photo sharing site such as tinypic or Imgur and then copy the link here.
    96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

You're right, the XL went to '95, but the Professional logos went to '97-8.
So, if it's an actual XL it's either not the original plate or it's a misprint.

Never seen a Jackson cast plate that started with a 7 like that. Stamped steel maybe, but not cast. Unless the pic is blurry (could be) the 7's don't look like a legit Jackson font. Plus, didn't these cast plates stop in 95? Weird stuff. Why forge one of those plates?!

No. the professional series stop in the 1997, in the 1997 catalog are still, . for exaple the DK1,RR1 DX2 and etc.

Those plates were used beyond '95, but the reason I asked for a pic is to determine the model.

I think that is actually a Dinky XL with upgraded pickups and some (upgraded) switches and knobs =)

Note that your guitar has the cutaway on the lower horn which is usually found on fusion models and apparently the DK XL.

And the year would be 94-95. Maybe they lost the plate and just bought another plate from ebay.
