Japanese RR3 w/ hb108's, pickup mods consensus?

I've been preaching the DiMarzio Tone Zone/Air Norton combo since first trying them.
I find the TZ bridge has a nice mid-range snarl that cuts well.

I'm far from pickup knowledgeable, though.
What type of music?
Rhythm or lead? Both?

I've got an Evo2/PAF Pro combo in my KE3 that sounds great. I like the Tone Zone a lot too, but I only have one in a basswood guitar and have no idea what it would sound like in an alder-bodied axe...

I have a JB in the bridge of my KE3 and I really enjoy it.
I also have the HB-103b/102n in my KVX which I thought I was going swap for a JB as well in 5he bridge but I'm actually enjoying them a lot.
The heavier stuff sounds great on my Kelly with the JB and I keep the KV in E standard as I've found that the pickups do that thrash sound very well. Metallica, megadeth etc...
