  • Curiosity. What does JS stand for?

This one is almost idiot... Just wandering if JS stands for "Jackson Student". Anyone? (by the way I just got a Dinky Archtop, made by Weibo in China. I own several Jacksons, Indonesian, Japanese, Indians and an AWESOME American KV2T Ghost Flames - blue... this Dinky is unbeatable regarding price-performance ratio).

Hey, so how do you know it's made by Weibo?

"Jackson Student" makes the most sense and is a reminder of the traditional naming scheme of the original 80s Jackson guitars (Custom trim vs Student trim).

I owned a 2013 JS32T Rhoads that had a serial number that began with CWJ; now it makes sense that it stands for China Weibo Jackson.

A tag comes with the guitar. Besides, I know some guys in the industry and it's a well known fact. By the way, is Weibo the PT Wildwood company?

The tag actually says Weibo? Interesting. Weibo is a Chinese company, Wildwood is an Indonesia company that used to make X-Series and Pro-Series for Jackson. But...they may have a plant in China, not quite sure, which is why I used think that Wildwood China used to make the JS Series.

Could just as well mean "Junior Series"

This. Thought it might’ve been described as such in prior catalogs?

Wouldn't that mean that "JS Series" means "Junior Series Series"?

                  It's like saying ATM Machine.

Interesting. I have three XSeries, all King V's, all neckthru made in India (the great Harmony Company). Wildwood got the production after FMIC dismissed India?

That's what i though about the earier versions.. I called them the "Just Shit" series.
Lately thought, they've been pretty decent.
I have a JS32TR that is a fantastic guitar. Picked it up for $75. Ditched the crappy pickups for some DiMarzios and it sounds great.

So, does that mean my next guitar will be a Made In Ignorance Prostitute Series?
