  • Info on the dr6

    I have scoured the internet looking for info on my dr6 Jackson Made in Japan. Because there is almost nothing, I seek help here. Here is what I know for a fact. It has ash wood, 22 frets, satin brushed metal knobs, a maple neck, reversed headstock and reversed shark fin inlays. That I know for sure. From what I can gather due to the very limited information on this model, the dr6 was the top of the line Made in Japan dinky for the year 2000. I do not know why it was discontinued. Any more information would be greatly appreciated!

    well, since you "know" all of that, I won't even bother discussing some of it.
    But you did say that you "don't know" why it was discontinued....

    All DR models were discontinued. The DR was nothing more than DK, but with a reverse headstock.
    DK= Dinky
    DR=Dinky Reverse
    You can still buy a reverse headstock and the upside down inlays. But no more separate series.

    Also, since you quoted the 2000 date, Jackson was sold soon after.
    And a decade later, there are no more Japanese guitars at all.

      How would they compare to the later DKMG series?

        I would also really love to know what type and grade or ash is in it.
