Jackson Dinky DK2 Hot Rod Flames - Clean, repair and setup

Hello everyone! I want to share with you all a video where I enjoy cleaning and setting up my Jackson Dinky DK2 Hot Rod Flames, made in japan in 2003/2004.
My very first Jackson was a SL-2h USA Select, fantastic guitar, I must say that this Dinky feels very much similar to it while playing. The stock pickups and woods aren't obviously top-of-the-line, but I feel very happy with this guitar. I'm glad to see a full video on this guitar and happy to see you disassembled the neck from the body to check for the date stamps! Is it just me, or does the model stamp on the neck heel say "DK3"? If so, I wouldn't be surprised; it was not uncommon for the Japanese Pro Series to have s neck that didn't have the same model stamp as the body to which it was mated. My 2009 "KE3 with binding" is a KE3 body with a DK2S neck and it left the factory that way.

That rosewood board has very nice, parallel grain.

Thank you for helping to dispel the silly misinformation that keeps getting perpetuated on the internet about the Japanese Jackson 9xxxxxx serial numbers and how they don't correspond to the year of manufacture. I hope people who see your videos can learn to stop assuming!

Well at the end of the day its the same neck, my 2006 KE3 has a WXRT neck. The end of the Japanese production added bindings to all models, so while that KE3 is a factory mutt its not a mistake. I'd like to get my hand on one of the bound RR3 neck and mate it to a graphic finish RX10 body at some point.

Forgot to mention my 2002 WRXT is made up of a WRXT body and KE3 neck. Want to trade necks so that they match our bodies exactly?

Wow, I wasn't really aware of the neck + body combination that happened at the Japanese factory back then. I check my video again, it looks like a "2" more than a "3" to me, I've never even seen a DK3 Dinky! The important thing is that it plays sooo great! Thank you everyone for answering my post!

In the 2000s, the first iteration DK3 was a Japanese-made sister guitar to the DK2, basically a DK2 with HSH pickups instead of HSS. This is why Crumbling's reply to me iterated that the neck is essentially the same as the DK2 neck.

Not to be confused with the newer (2010s) Mexican DK3 which has HSS pickups (like the Japanese DK2... slightly confusing, yes? ) and was recently discontinued.
