    What might this be? I'm usually pretty good at this but I'm not sure here. Not yet at least. The body reminds me of the JDR- Pro MF exclusive Dinky that shows up from time to time and confuses people, but those have tremolos don't they? Is this a TOM variant? Or did someone give this a DK2 neck? I found this on Facebook and I'm trying to probe for more images, including what the headstock looks like. For now this is what I got.

    The 24th fret inlay points towards a dealer exclusive.
    96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

      Interesting with the TOM bridge. I'm also thinking dealer exclusive with that Ibanez-like control layout and the 24th-fret inlay. Musician's Friend had two models, one with the sharkfins and one with dots, but they both had Floyds. I'm stumped.

        There is a Metallic Purple Ibanez
        with a Sharkfin with 22 frets,
        HSS but has a Floyd
        * Reverb *

        I do agree, the Selector on the 1 Mechayoshi
        posted does remind me of Ibanez.

        It at first looks like a Jackson because of the Sharkfins. Then the black Headstock says Ibanez.

              Most Jackson Charvels have black hardware, Not all mind you. the positions of the knobs and switch is odd. Ibbys have a different kind of shark-ish inlay.

                Well, the person on Facebook never responded. We might not ever know. I do have an entry for it on my database should we ever more conclusively figure this out.

                    Without seeing the headstock I’m leaning towards ‘mutt’ as well.

                        I've never seen an Ibanez with actual sharkfins, though. They've got a little notch cut out to make them slightly different.

                          The Ibanez EX line had what they called ‘triangle’ inlays:

                            Right TJ never seen them before now myself of course I've seen their inlays, I've even owned a few years ago. You can see it better on my phone sharkies and it is an ex something.
