Hey guys- I just put an order in for a MIJ Jackson. I used to a 1996 Performer PS2 way back when and I kind of missed it, so I picked this up. I believe it is a 98 DK2. Am I right? Thanks!

Who knows unless they google it or have one in that finish ( which I personal have never seen on a DK2) I don't really care for them, but that's just me. Most people really like 'em

So, google 98 DK2 and push images at the top or wait someone here will fuck it..

        So, yes it's a 1998 DK2

2006-2011 DK2. That era had black hardware and Seymour Duncan pickups. If you buy it and disassemble the neck from the body, you will find neck stamps within that date range.

It may be a combination of lies and misinformation. Some are guilty of perpetuating wrong information. Some unknowingly spread it, especially when this horribly misinformed "serial number checker" website (https://www.guitarinsite.nl/serienum...ackson_eng.php) lives on and is trusted by newbies as gospel when it is not. I really want that website taken down because it is responsible for so much misinformation. In the internet age, false information easily spreads. The campaign to spread correct information, which is our mission, is constantly hampered by the rapid spread of misinformation that it's like shoveling snow during a blizzard.

Took a look at that thread, I'm not that stupid what I know most is from having or seeing on here for years. I didn't even look at the plate just the guitars.. That was a mistake

Thanks for that! It’s been a long time since I really dipped my toes into the Jackson world. I briefly had a X series Soloist but I didn’t get along with the neck and despised the FR Special! On this new guitar I tried everything I could on google and that serial number decoder. Nothing was very helpful. It will be here tomorrow. When I have my tech drop in a Suhr DSH+ in the bridge and set it up with 8s, I’ll have him check the dates on the neck.
