Is this RR legit? Is it a good deal?

Hello,

The owner of the following guitar offered it to me asking for the equivalent of USD 800,00. I discounted the factor between USA and Brazil market prices.
I`m not an expert. I cannot tell if it`s legit by myself.

The pictures aren't the best, but I see nothing wrong with it.
Oh, and that case is far superior to what Jackson offers. That is a bonus.



My only concern is how clean (aka, undamaged) the thing is.
Which could be a sign of something that just came off the factory line of a fake shop. Or something that was damaged, repaired, and repainted.
Or, well, could just be a professional seller that knows how prep his stuff for photos.

Also looks like upgraded tuners or did they come with locking tuners.

did rr5's come with that kind of truss rod cover? not that it indicates any provenance as hw is easily swapped.

Thank you for your advice. I have asked a guy that lives near the owner and has many USA Jacksons to take a look for me before buying it.

Yes, the owner says he swapped for Gotoh locking tuners, which I think makes sense once it doesn't have a Floyd Rose.
If everything goes weel it will be my first fixed bridged guitar.

Not a USA - MiJ RR5. He even has an aftermarket brass "RR5 Pro" truss rod plate on it.

My 1995 USA RR has the Bill Lawrence USA pickups like that, but just black.

My 1995 USA RR has the Bill Lawrence USA pickups like that, but just black.

It´s a 2000 Custom Select. The BLs were upgrades done by a previous owner. He had lots of USA Jacksons, so he made upgrades to some of the guitars. I have three Jacksons that have been owned by him before.
