Yeah, it's gotta be maple! I agree dots are too plain for a RR, 22 frets are ok. If it's along the lines of what Hamner suggested and under $600 - I am in!! No response about my pickup question? Or if it's only going to have one, how about a on/off toggle switch?

I also agree that the a RR just doesn't look right with dots. And although the first in the "series" has dots, that doesn't necessarily mean that we can't use a different fretboard inlay for the subsequent LEs, as long as the people who are "in" agree to the features.

Black fins would be a big draw, and we are definetly checking on that. If we stick with the series theme idea I think deviating from dots to fins would still be acceptable.

There are a lot of people who don't like h/s/h, so I doubt we'll do that. Right now the single hum helps with cost, and adds a custom look.

For hardware this time I'd like to add the turbo charger preamp to the pickup (like on the dkmg), so there'll be two knobs.

I thought the turbo charger pre-amp only worked with passive pickups. Seems like that would be a mod someone could add later at their own expense. Can't you just purchase that pre-amp by itself from a reputable Jackson dealer?

What's with all this one pickup-one volume knob crap on every LE guitar?? Are people trying to make the guitar not versatile?? What's wrong with two hums, a volume and a tone??


You know what...forget what I just said...just forget the knobs altogether and wire the pickup right to the output jack....oh and just so it's even less versatile make sure it's an EMG 81.

There are tons of two hum guitars out there for you to pick from, why don't you buy one of those.

I am excited to see the the finished product of the RRLE. Although, I don`t care for the Rhoads body style and how they ride on the body, I am still excited to see what she turns out like, should be very cool. I am in on the next one if it is a Warrior or Star, hopefully a Star, but a Warrior would be sweet also. Jack.

I believe that there would have been more orders placed for the first guitar if it had an OFR. That is what kept me from ordering one. Keep the basic scheme if that is what is desired, but add an OFR. After all, for those financially challenged (like myself), it makes more sense to buy a guitar with an OFR already installed. Otherwise you have to pay for another trem, find and buy an OFR and possible modify your new guitar. Not only does this increase the overall dollar amount, a guitar is only original once.
