• Where to obtain string locks for DK2 nut...

I can't find the locks (3X black) for my DK2... when I aquired it off ebay. The seller had ground a standard set to fit, but ground the wrong sides !
The locks for the nut are a strange size and not one of my local shops can help.

Whaddya mean "ground the wrong sides"?

Have you tried turning them 90 degrees?

Anyhoo, www.stewmac.com has all that stuff.

The DK2 uses a odd size set of string locks on the nut.
Both standard "Original" and "licenced By" nuts use a
string lock that will NOT work on the nut for a DK2...
Can anyone help me locate a set of 3 ???

Yes I already did. I bought the 42mm style and again It was the wrong size.
The problem is :
Stock DK2 Locks front to back are .430"
"Licenced By"(R42)locks are .468"
"ORIGINAL" Floyd locks are .446"
I have the SATIN finish FLOYD ROSE trem & nut.
I believe it came w/black hold downs...
The previous owner ground a set to fit but turned
them 90 degrees and ground the wrong sides...
Thanks, I appreciate the info but so far I can't
locate the ones that I need...

You could replace the whole nut with a standard one and never have this problem again. Have you threaded in the hex screws to make sure that the nut's not stripped after all the trouble you're going to? Might want to do that.

Yes, I have checked the threads. But, that is very sound advice!
The only problem is that, The nut is the Satin chrome. If it was the shinny chrome, I would have jumped to replace it.
Any way THANKS for the ideas...
