• Now there's a surprise... JS-35 series!?

So, like everyday, I was looking on the German eBay for nice Jackson guitars, and what did I find?
JS-35 Warrior

Seems like there are floyd versions of the JS-30 models now, I also saw a Kelly.
But I've never heard anything about these before...

Well, considering the price I would rather get a WRXT anyways, just 100 EURO more but MIJ, with better trem and sharkfins.

What is the quality like on the JS-30s? Because I could really go for a 24 fret rhoads

I posted a review when I got my JS-30 Warrior... it seems like I'm the only JCFer that bought one so far.

I've had the guitar for a few weeks and now it seems like the best bargain ever to be had.
It has a very full unplugged sound with a great snappy attack... which leads to furiously chugging palm mutes.
It doesn't have much low-end, but that's perfect since I use it for my deathmetal band and tune it to B with 0.013
strings. The sound is less muddy and more aggressive than with my basswood DKMGT (with has a Duncan JB in the bridge), and that's with the stock pickups!

It holds tuning nicely and my tech set it up well... has a little buzz with how he set the action, but plays very well.
No dead spots, everything feels solid... though it doesn't reach my DKMGT in this aspect.

Well, I'd never thought I would get such a nice guitar since it's made in India, I only wanted a back up for my DKMGT... now I have a guitar that, although it doesn't play and feel as nice, sounds better than my DKMGT at 1/4 the price.

And, believe it or not... when I enter the studio in December the JS30WR will be my main recording guitar...

BUT: I'm dead sure I got unbelievably lucky with this one (purchased it online), I can't imagine the whole series being that good. Even the Japanese (!) made JS30 Dinky I played in a shop once wasn't nearly as nice.

Try before you buy, and try lots until you find the best.

Hm, to put things into perspective somewhat:
My KVX10 and my Soloist Archtop Professional both sound and feel better than the Warrior...
And it still has to stand the test of time, I'll see how well it holds up.

But so far I'm damn happy... Got lots of Jackson for very little money. If it holds up well I'm gonna upgrade the whole electronic and pickups sometime down the road.

If they make a 24-fret Rhoads with trem I'm going to feel like an idiot for spending some much $$ building my own.

And now there's a JS-35KV King V with floyd on the German 'Bay, too.
Let's see how long it takes for the first JS35RR to pop up.

Do they use the jt580lp or is it something else? I might just give up on my project and wait to buy one.

DR, both you and the Jackson webmaster are wrong. The JS30 & JS35 shape series' body wood is cedro. See my massive JS30 series thread for more details.

Actually, you shouldn't. On the upper end, the RR24 (USA Select) has been delayed. On the lower end, the JS30 series are made in India and are made of a lower end wood (cedro). Also, the JS35 series may be Europe distribution only.
What RR are you starting with for your project? I say go for it.

Whoa there's gonna be a USA RR24, as in neck-through? Had I known about that I'd have started saving my money.

Mine will be starting from an EX Professional body, with an EMG-89 and a DK2-ish neck. I'm not sure which bridge yet, most likely a jt580lp since I don't want to spend $200 on an OFR. I've already bought everything but the bridge so I'm committed to making it now, but I would love a neckthrough.
