  • Went to Ishibashi today...

Just to pick up some lemon oil and a cloth..
Scanned the guitars on the wall (how could I not?) And found a nice looking RR-J2 (rhoads) in white with black pinstripes... it was pretty darn rad. Wish I could find a pic online...

Rad? I thought you said it was White? So which was it, Rad or White?

See, THOSE are what the USA RR24s should look like, exactly the same as the USA RR1/RR1T but with two added frets and the pickup moved over to accommodate the extra frets. Jackson Stars did it right.

          Yea,
I wish U.S.Jackson could do it.

            These ones had:
Black headstock on the white body/neck, black floyd hardware and the pinstripes.. Also there was a catalog that the cashier tossed into my bag, these are featured in the catalog, and it says 130,000 yen or so... Soooo sexy, but costs almost as much as my Kelly Star did, and I can't afford another *sulk*
Actually a white Kelly Star with black bevels and or some KS-adapted pinstripes, and an ebony board would be pretty sweet for my next investment... </dream>

Using search engine, or better yet, clicking on The Steve Man's name will reveal the thread:

Oh...you're a student. It's good to see Jackson fans aren't just 30 and 40 something. Good playing too. Those Kelly Stars are sweet.

                          Re: Went to Ishibashi today...

Yup, I've been having a pretty rad time here in Tokyo.
The Loudness show was so excellent!!!
Akira played some mad-ass guitar, it rocked all the way through.

Been drinkin a few beers here and there, checkin out the city, checkin out the guitars, rockin out on my guitar, all that other good shit.
Time to take a vacation from vacation though; I'm gonna hit an overnight bus, make a little one day trip to Osaka on saturday, then a short trip to Hawaii starting saturday evening. Should be pretty cool, except that in Hawaii they probably won't let me buy beer... oh well, I could use a break from that too probably.

Edit: as for the pics of a guitar shop.. I'll have to look into it. There are a lot of shops in the city (well, not guitar shops, but other shops) that have signs specifically stating, "no photographs" so I might have to see whether or not it's ok to take a picture if I'm in the guitar shops.. next time I hit the Ishibashi, if it's ok I'll snag a photo or two, it's interesting. They fit a pretty good number of guitars into a really small area.
Since I'm pretty busy this week and leaving friday I can't do it right away, but when I get back from my trip, winter break will have just started (heh, sweet) so I'll have some time on my hands to do some guitar surfing.

Steve, will you get me a Young Guitar Magazine for me?
I haven't read new ones for months..

                              Sure, man!
Do you want the newest one, or is there one in particular that you'd like? Buzz me a PM or e-mail and I'll hook ya up, but it'll have to be after I get back from Hawaii.. I leave the day after tomorrow and I am temporarily experience a lack of internet access at home (boss of the house hasn't paid the bill yet) so I'm slow to get messages and such.
