            Thanks for all the kinds words, everyone! I appreciate it. Ebonization would be a great idea, if I could get it to work. I kinda tried the vinegar & steel wool mixture on an old, rosewood-fretboarded Focus 1000 neck I have lying around, but it didn't work very well. I do have some India ink which I could try. Hmm. Maybe I'd better get that Focus 1000 neck out again. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

                fantastic results!
                I wanted to do a fin like this on one of my jacksons, but couldnt get the flame pattern right, so thought the painting would go to all hell [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

                  I believe the thinking behind keeping those features off the high end Japanese guitars is that it'd cut into USA model sales. You could always do the pinstripe tape / fake binding thing...Number Of The Priest had good results with that.
