• JS 30 KV

Alright lads, havnt posted here in a while but hey.
How bad are the JS30KVs? Its just that even though I know theres a difference between the quality on those and the KVX10, Im finding it hard to see. Y'know, both have unbound rosewood boards, bolt on etc.
Is it basically the quality of the neck and pickups and hardware?
Cheers

Re: JS 30 KV

My brother has the JS30KV, he recently installed a dimarzio super dist. and paf pro and sounds pretty good. This is a pretty good guitar the only thing wrong with it is the stock pickups. I thinking of buying a JS30 Kelly just because it looks too cool!

Well the CVR2 pups don't sound too bad, but I would say go for the KVX because you get these benefits for only a little more money:

-shark fin inlays
-alder body
-good pups
-Made In Japan
-better QA
-will probably wear better

My vote goes to the KVX10 easily.

I own a KVX10 and a JS30WR Warrior, and there is quite a difference there. I actually got one of the good Warriors and am very happy with it, mine has a nice loud and snappy unplugged sound and seems to be build well... I played another JS30WR at a local shop that wasn't quite as nice; for example the fretboard had some issues near the nut.

But still my KVX10 plays and sounds alot better, because of the nicer neck profile, smoother neck, overall better build quality, and nicer pickups and hardware. Definitely worth the extra money, and the pearloid sharkfins also look ALOT better than the white plastic dots.
You get what you pay for...

If you are short of money you can of course try to find a JS30KV without quality issues and probably will be happy with it, but if you have the money the KVX10 will be totally worth it IMO.

Hope that helps.
