DXMGT's have landed!

I picked up 3 DXMGT's. A Ruby Red for me. A Burnt Cherry Burst flametop for my oldest boy and a Black Metallic for my youngest son. The build quality on these is fabulous. They all had excellent setups. The flametop sounds a little better than the other two.

I really like how those guitars look with the 3x3 headstock. They almost look like flat-top SLSMGs with sharkfins. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

No adoptions please! BTW I went to buy the oldest boy the SLSMG but he played the flametop DXMGT and it sounded and played better than the SLSMG. It also saved me about $400! [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Great that you were able to compare the DXMGT with the SLSMG directly and came out with the better guitar for less! More proof that the more expensive guitar is not always necessarily the BEST guitar! [img]/images/graemlins/headbang.gif[/img]

I think Jackson has the coolest 6 inline *and* the coolest 3+3 headstocks.

Damn right! I don't know why there are people who hate the 3x3 Jackson headstock. All it is is just the 6-in-line headstock rotated upwards by about 45 degrees and with an extra spike at the bottom to make it symmetrical near the low/high E strings. Still a headstock that has the Jackson pointy headstock theme but made to be 3x3. Nice design work there in order to retain that pointy motif.

I will put up some better pics later. I got the camera for XMAS and I am on a slow learning curve [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] The flametop is very nice and the metallic in the black only shows up in bright light or direct sunlight but it is cool too.

I could never get my boys interested in Jacksons until I showed them the 3X3 headstock. They both said they thought it was awesome and they wanted one with that headstock. I have always liked it to.

I wish I could get into bolt-on necks. Those 3 guitars probably cost the same as my SL1! You've definitely got me beat on the quality to price ratio there
