I have a Y2KV and had a KV1 with Alder body(wings).
Mahogany body sounds bigger but also darker in my opinion.
I think Mahogany body guitars would be great for Heavy music.
Alder would sound much faster(response to your playing) and much brighter.Great for soloing but again, that is my opinion.
I prefer Mahogany body/neck for neck thru construction.
It sounds so much fuller than a guitar with Alder body/Maple neck thru Jackson.
I love Alder body/Maple neck for bolt on guitars though.

I'm with Toru...I only play metal so I like a dark heavier sound from mahogany...Can't wait to see these

I play metal, too, but I also play lead. I like the bite of a maple neck. Why doesn't anyone make maple neck/mahogany body guitars that are not a 70s Les Paul?
Ibanez makes a lot fo guitars with that configuration.
Most of them are Bolt On though.
I had a Wayne Monster which had Mahogany body with Maple neck/Rosewood fingerboard.
It had pretty good sound but the neck seems heavier than the body and I had a problem with the balance of them when I play it with a strap.
You can get a Carvin made anyway you want, especially maple neck thru a mahogany body. I am working on an all mahogany DC125, but man I want one of these Red KB Rhoads, these are sweet!! Jack.
Got It!
This is the 5th time people have asked me today.

PM will be sent right after this.
I like the one with green bevels, but I don't care much for the inlays.
Not that I have anything against the idea being conveyed by the inlays, I just don't think they look particularly cool as fingerboard inlays.
