• And this model is... ?

OK, I've never seen this model before.

What is it, when and where was it made, and is it any good?

Wide 12th fret dots means India. Avoidia. It's one of those S models. Well below the Performer or X series.

PS-7, I think. Newc's right, not a great guitar. One wank on that trem and it's all over...

        Thanks fellas.

The trem kinda looks like the Wilkinson models used by PRS. Probably just looks like it but isn't the same.

PS-7. And it's got a Wilkinson, but when did PRS use them? PRS makes their own trems.

I think its alder with a maple top. I think Tekky has one. He would definately know.

I thought the tops on those were photo flames and not a real slab of maple.

I thought they were real maple. But Tekky would know - he's hotrodding his, isn't he? So he would've had it apart.

Yeah, I think he is hotrodding his. Maybe he can chime in here. I thought the imports had either really thin, cheap veneers or photo flames.

Well then, we await the return of Tekky.

It actually looks stellar in person. I'm considering picking it up to also modify it a bit. It would be great if I could replace the whole pickguard assembly with a white pearloid Strat setup with either Fralins or Sensors, but I don't think a standard assembly would fit too well. Doesn't look the same around the neck area. Cutting out to fit the bridge wouldn't be a big deal, and neither would new screw holes, but I just don't think a normal Strat guard would fit.

                          Tekky?

I'm almost positive it's a veneer. You should be able to tell for yourself though.

When you move the guitar around, you should be able to see a "depth" to the wood grain if it's real maple. A gravure top is just a picture of a piece of flamed maple with a burst finish over it to cover the edges, so you won't see the same 3 dimensionality. Hey, good word, that.
