Ishibashi Music will work with people in the states.. as far as I know, they're the only dealer. They have some English-speaking staff at their web-shop and they get a substantial number of customers for Fender Japan stuff.

I dig the KS [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] I've been tempted to buy a standard black KS to go with my semi-custom, but I'm glad I didn't... I'm almost flat broke these days and living in Tokyo is expensive, haha!

could someone explain to me who jackson stars is ??

Are these the people who build jacksons japanese import models, or are it some clever asian guys who are ripping/licencing(is that a word ??) jackson designs ?

Jackson Japan for Asian market only. But you can order one through a Japanese dealer.

how is the build quality, maybe the ugly website gives a wrong image of them but it seems like it's kinda crappy.

I have never played one but others here have. Basically, from the reviews I have heard, they are on par with USA Jackson quality, only more affordable.

Heh, the Jackson Stars website is pretty awful...
You can see better quality pics of them on Ishibashi's website.

They're not USA guitars, and I wouldn't necessarily say "on-par" with USA Jacksons, as they are still MIJ Jacksons but they're excellent nonetheless-- better IMO than the import Jacksons available in the US and elsewhere, and a reasonbable price.

I'll be damned if that's not a sweet guitar! (I've played one in the Shinjuku store and I was more than impressed for the price they ask for these)

The logo is a bit of a downer, but it makes zero difference in the overall quality of the guitar of course [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]
I wish I wasn't so broke.. if I had the money I might get an SL-J2 here before heading back to Oregon.

My biggest fear is the lack of a h/s case for the KS..there isn't one listed on the accessories page..I LOVE that they are all 24 fret neck thru,but wouldn't be comfortable with international shipping w/o a case.....

You can get a hardshell case for the KS, I've talked with Ishibashi about it.
The catch is you have to order it, and it takes a couple months for them to build the case after your order it.. and it's a bit over 150 USD for the case. I don't think they produce a LOT of KSs so they make the cases to order.

I'm gonna ship mine back when I head back.. a case would be nice but I can't afford it.. I might have Ishibashi ship it for me, they do a great job of packing it, and EMS is generally a safe shipping method, so I have faith in that.

I sent a Jackson Stars guitar from here to pro-fusion that way (got all the packaging materials I needed from the store I bought it from.. just told 'em I was planning to ship it and they hooked me up everything I needed) and it got there safe and sound.

150 dollars for a custom form-fitting case is not a bad price at all.
