  • Jackson RR5

Hey guys, I registered here sometime last year mainly to oggle your sweet sweet jacksons and lurk. So this would be my first post here. I have been trying to decide on a new geet for over a year (while saving money) all I have now is a modded Epi bolt on SG, pretty craptastic. Anywho I was wondering if in your honest opinion(s) if saving up for an RR5 would be worth it or if I should go for a cheaper import or possibly if someone could recommend any other brands that would suit my musical tastes. http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp...=345579&T=5263 there are some of my songs, I have recently been developing some shred type stuff as well. I await your opinions, fire away.

I regret selling my rr5, It was pretty sweet guitar. The only thing I didn't like, was it had that new feel, that I don't really enjoy.

      Re: Jackson RR5

I would actually suggest buying some older, used Jackson guitar, instead of an RR5.

It'll be 10x better and it'll have history + appeal.
You took too much, man. Too much. Too much.

I don't know if I'd be able to afford an older jackson (I'm a student) but I've noticed alot of the older charvels are sleeper guitars, ie: Model 5. Any thoughts?

Yeah the Charvel Model guitars or second hand Jacksons.

If you go Charvel you can get a M6 player for like $400 for sure. An M5, as well, cheaper even.

For like $800 you'd have a second hand Jackson in nice shape.

I'm a student as well, btw, it ain't easy but its's managable!

Model 5's are great guitars, as are all the Model series IMO.

i guess the RR5 might be overpriced (retail) but i own it and i love it to death. its probably my best playing guitar (untill i get my 1989 RR1 refretted)
