I agree on the volume knob. All the original pics had the volume knob in the traditional place within reach.

Re: Kevin Bond Rhoads Models: First Look at Them

Ive seen the green bevels model and it looks dope!! But sorry to say it doesnt have the "leaf" inlays, its got the same pentaegrams as the red version. The inlays are indeed a single circle (with small spikes where the pente-points stick out) and the design is printed on, but they still look amazing.
These guitars are sooo light, it freaked me out at first. Felt like I was playing a toy, but after a while I really warmed to them. They have the slickest ebony on them too!!
Whilst the Kevin Bond is super cool, I think the COW6 is the real winner; just super smooth, fast and lightweight, with a single EMG 81!!

Wow- thats a dissappointment!
I have been misinformed from a reliable source it seems and I apologize that I said with confidentce that they were pot leafs...
It wont be the last time I make an error

I still havent seen them... tho....
Of course I'll have to wait to get mine in or see some pics to be 100% convinced.
Bummer if so.....

Scott, any word on the Christian Olde Wolbers Archtop Dinky lefty versions. Awhile back you had said that this model might be available in a lefty. Can you find out.

thanks,

joe...

At this time they are not. It is with hope in the future they will be but I still have no definitive on this...

Re: Kevin Bond Rhoads Models: First Look at Them

The Bond Rhoads looks nice but doesn't interest me... the Wolbers Dinky DK6 however does!
Like a super-version of my DKMGT (at least I hope it is!) which is still my best feeling guitar (albeit not my best sounding... I blame it on the basswood!)

How comes the DK6 is lightweight since it is a full mahogany Dinky?
I mean, I understand why the SLSMG is so lightweight due to its construction, but that also is the main reason I didn't get one at a great deal and decided to wait for the DK6 instead.

I like the black COW6 very much, looks stylish without the fingerboard inlays, but i would like to know (since i like having a few beers at gigs and practice :-]) if it has position markers on the neck binding ? (if it even has bindings)

thanx, arno

Yes, it almost 100% sure has position markers.

Re: Kevin Bond Rhoads Models: First Look at Them

The Roswell Pro inlays were not 100% die-cut either. The first and 3rd ones were done with black paint.

For as long as people have been clamoring for a singlehum neckthrough and ebony-boarded RR around here, I'm surprised to see even one comment about the knob placement and the inlays not being 100% die/laser-cut.
It won't play any better with 100% laser-cut pentagrams, and if the knob bothers you, get a volume pedal

As for the COW being lightweight mahogany, it's probably Indian Cedro, which is one species of mahogany, but lighter than what everyone is used to. Either that or they cut it thin like an SLS.

I had a custom Rhoads with a Volume knob in the same spot and loved it.
My new CS will have the same placement of volume knob too.
