Re: Just got my new Jackson (Kevin Bonds Rhoads)

Except for the Pentagram inlays, I like it... more & more it is growing on me. As for the inlays I prefer them over the pot leaf inlays, but you just can't go wrong w/ Sharkfins on a Rhoads.
What was the cost of the guitar w/ case?

The only other thing that has me intrigued, & I have the same issue/question about my KV Pro, w/ a fine tuning bridge, why not put a Floyd nut on there? That just seems to make more sense to me.

Why would you put a Floyd on a fixed bridge guitar? I think it is just overkill.

The guitar with hardshell case ran me $1199. I got it from jason at drumcity guitarland

Some people (like me) don't like the tone of a metal nut, and hate doing long slides down the neck, only to tear a chunk out of your hand on a locknut.

Obviously to each there own. Me I prefer a Floyd nut.

Yes on a Fixed bridge, because when you bend strings, it can go out of tune, tuners might not be so good, String caught in traditional nut slot, etc, etc. Plus why do you need fine tuners then if the strings are not locked @ the nut?

Now if you don't like the tone from a metal nut, I can't argue w/ that.

That is just sweet. I love the fact that they put an X2N in them stock.

I am sure it is Duncan Iommi, not DiMarzio X2N.

I guess I stand corrected. Thought it was an X2N

Some people just feel more comfortable adjusting from the bridge. Plus they are "fine"tuners so you have more range and control on the tuning with them than your machine head.

Holy crap...From all Rhoads guitars, this probably looks the best. Congrats for geting that baby...Just remember that you don't need any ESP's if you get a Jackson

Exactly...when you´re talking about getting it really spot on, those fine tuners are much more efficient than standard machine heads

Actually you have more tuning range with a standard tuner than a fine tuner, but more control with a fine tuner.
I'd just put a TP-6 fine tuning tailpiece on it rather than hack a Kahler onto it.

Nice axe BTW - not my cup o tea, but it looks nice

And I thought Gibson made the Iommi, not Duncan?

Iommi used to de a Duncan endorsee before switching toi Gibson, and Duncan still makes the pickup in the Custom shop IIRC... but I may be a bit off..
