Yeah, import mahogany seems to be much lighter for some reason. I recently got a 7-string Schecter made out of all mahogany... damn it's light, but I like it! Much better than having an anchor (like a lot of Les Pauls) hanging on your shoulder.

I'd guess the "import mahogany" is a faster growing kind, thus cheaper to produce/aquire, but also more lightweight (less dense). It would be interesting to make a sonic comparison between it and the "traditional mahogany".

damn, now i have absolutely nothing keeping me from buying it (other than money of course [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] ) if you think switching from an alder RR1 to the bond RR is weird, i cant even imagine what its gonna be like switching from my gibson explorer to that [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] but i definately think im gonna go for it (not now though, i need to collect some funds)

another question for those that own one- how does the pickup clean up? if im gonna have one pickup, id kinda like for it to able to handle cleans well too. what do you guys think

[img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] good point. i just figured if im gonna spend that much on something with one pickup, i dont want it to be real limiting (and i usually use the neck pickup for cleans).

i really want this guitar regardless of how many pickups it has....but now i dont know if its gonna happen. while i can afford it now, i just spent $1000 on a guitar at the end of december and $725 on another at the end of may.....if i buy this one for $1200 now i think thats too much money too soon. ahh i dunno. i REALLY fucking want this one [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] i guess i need to think it over some more

Get it..or you WILL be unable to concentrate on anything else. If you don't then you'll wish you had. I don't see these guitars(KB and COW) being in the lineup for more than 2 years.

itll definately be blood red if i get it. ive wanted a blood red one since kevin himself got his first one. it just looks so damn cool. i have a feeling that im gonna end up buying it soon (as soon as one of the stores gets it in), cause your right i really havent been able to concentrate on anything else for the last couple weeks since i really started to consider buying one

The cleans on the Iommi pick up are real twangy. If you turn down the volume a bit its not too bad, you can always swap out the pickup with one that you can coil tap....
