take a look at this one for example.
they are to be get quite regular...

naaaa, THIS is by sure not a KE3.
take a look at the jacksonhomepage to see a KE3, and those have sharkfins, yours has dots!
besides, the headstock on a KE3 should be empty except of the jackson logo, I can't read what's written on yours, but you're sure it doesn't say performer?
looks like a PS6T to me, but still I could be wrong...

if that's the KE3 you think about buying for 400, I'd be careful, since it really doesn't look like a KE3 to me.

and don't be confused about the truss-rod cover, I do have a PS3T (performer rhoads) and she doesn't say anything on thre truss rod too, so...

could either be an older professional, a PS6T or one of those new JS35KEs. their value is about in that row, professional, performer, JS.
but I really can't tell for sure, what exact model this is.
just can tell ya, it's not a KE3, and most likely not worth 400$. from were are you gonna buy, btw?
is it ready to be picked up, or do you need to ship it first?

maybe if you could get a closer pic of the headstock or trem, I could tell more.

but I've seen lots of KE3s go for under 400 (more likely around 300-350 or even cheaper), and those are of better quality then the performer or JS for sure. dunno much about the professionals though to be honest...

It's probably not the JS35KE, because those have chrome hardware.

It could either be a japan-made PS6T Performer, but it could also be a Kelly Std Professional, made in Japan in the early 90's.

It's hard to make out the word next to the logo, but it doesn't look long enough to be Professional. I'm with the others, looks like a PS6T to me.
