yea the problem is I am looking for a closeup of the body, just to get a look at the beveling. The pic in the galley gives a good idea but because of the flametop its a little hard to tell, particularly on the lower half. The kelly part seems to beveled the same as a kelly. Its the bottom half I'm unsure about. It looks kinda like the beveling on a RR?

It should be exactly like the bevelling on an RR, since that's what the bottom half is...

They stopped just this year. They were redesigning their site like a month ago, maybe you were checking then?

In any case, they are still offering it through their custom shop and their CS prices are very reasonable. I know I had a quote for a KS(to KE-1T specs pretty much) through Ishibashi. It was 1.3k USD including a hardshell case and shipping.

I understand, but considering prices of Jackson CS and ESP CS, that is a fair price for a well-built Alder/maple neck-thru guitar with an ebony board.

Oh I don't deny that, but it seems that for the next 4 years I'll be stuck on Squier budget haha! Student life + not living in your homeland or a country where they speak your language... I've been lucky enough already to have been introduced to the world of imports Charvel :P
I shall consider that option though. To me, the US label doens't mean much so a cheaper, Japanese custom shop seems like the way to go indeed. Thanks for the tip!

Does anyone have pictures of the original Kelly Star prototype? It had a bound neck and for some reason I remember it being a Blood Drip but that might just be the way I dreamed it to be! [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] I remember I posted a pic of it at some point but god knows when that was and I have a feeling it was longer ago than the search function will allow...
