Nice family shot! I like the King V! How does its neck compare to your RG? And does your RG have the Bubinga stripe on the back of the neck? (Trying to determine its age, as the neck profile has become thicker over the years).

necks on those 2 are very comparable, thin, flat and fast
the ibanez needs a little work to be road worthy though, not much, but a little, those gotta be my 2 favorite necks i own though

no skunk stripe on the RG 550 as it is a 1990 model

yeah its an old ART unit, using it for delay and reverb since the PV has no reverb, got it for free, had it for a while but gonna get something new soon since it cuts in and out

the King V definetly has a speed neck, i was going to change the neck to a reverse head/ sharkfin neck, but i simply cant do it because it is the best playing axe out of them all

i grabbed the rich cuz it looked cool and the music store by me was getting rid of it stupid cheap

i either want a USA jacko or a gibby LP or explorer next..........

i should add too that those bolt on king v's go for stupid cheap on ebay

i picked mine up for $125 IIRC on there (and note that it is the nicest player i have)

you know what else has a similar neck? those JDR-94's, my buddy has one and the neck is also comparable

Interesting point on the JDR-94. Thanks. I understand the old Dinky Reverse models had really nice (read THIN) necks too, and some even had maple boards, if you're into them (I am).

There have been a few Dinky Reverse models over the years, so to be more specific, the ones I'm referring to had small, asymmetrical fretboard markers (dots at the bass edge of the fretboard) and pickups without mounting rings. They usually go for cheap, too. Another axe to add to my future acquisitions list. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
