• Jackson Stealths

Does anyone have any real specs on the old Stealths, Body wood...pickups...tremelo etc....I know these were Japanese models...just wondering how they compare to other Japanese models. I have a Fusion HH Professional that I love but wondered how the Stealth stacks up against it....

    Re: Jackson Stealths

They used a variety. I think some were alder, but I have one that's so light I suspect it's basswood. They used whatever trem was out at the time - I've seen 580's and 590's.

        Re: Jackson Stealths

The Fusion HH is not a Stealth. The original Stealths are excellent examples of Japanese workmanship under Jackson direction. The early 90's models had poplar bodies, maple quartersawn necks, ebony fingerboards with 22 jumbo frets, mother of pearl offset dot inlays, mother of pearl Jackson logoes on the headstock, no binding anywhere, Jackson J-100 single coils, J-90 humbuckers, Schaller/Jackson JT-590 trems, Jackson logoed tuners, output jack located on the top of the body, and both solid and flamed maple tops. The body design was very unique to the model, similar to the Ibanez Sabers of the time. After this high quality Stealth (and the entire original Professional Series) came to an end, Jackson released additional versions of this model, one including a three humbucker set up. None of them had the appeal and craftsmanship of the originals.

          Re: Jackson Stealths

I know the Fusion is not a Stealth, but Will wanted to compare specs from both, that's why I posted specs for both guitars.

          Cheers!

Very well, but my post describes the first Stealth, the Stealth Pro. Not the XL. Big difference as I mentioned. Either way, there is not a bad thing with either model...

Anyone know what year the three-pup Stealth version with TOM bridge was made? Someone here has one with three EMGs (81, 58, 85), but I can't remember who.

                    Toejam,

If you mean three hums, that'll be the Stealth HX, and was produced from 1993 to 1995. She had the JT390 tunamatic with string thru body.

                    Hope it helps.

                    Rodrigo.

Yeah, I know it was the HX. I actually have a Dinky HX (JT390 TOM) that was a '94, so yeah, the '93-'95 time frame sounds right. Thanks!

                        Why is it called TOM?

                          Re: Jackson Stealths

TOM as in tune-o-matic. The Gibson patented style fixed bridge with either a stop bar tail piece or strings going through the body.
