DXMG neck on a KVX10 body? *UPDATED Question*

Also, do you think Fender will start selling individual components (like, say NECKS?) soon?

Hey Ron...Not an expert but I think they are interchangable. Binding and reverse headstock I think are the only things different. I put a DKMG neck on a DK2 Body...I think Greg put a DK neck on either a Warrior or Kelley Star. That neck would make the KV look pretty cool...reverse head, binding. imho sharkfins without binding dont look right

Ian, your KE-3 has 22 frets, right? So I have a feeling the 24 fret DXMG neck won't fit your Jackson, at least not without major work. If you really want a economical but nice 24 fret Kelly, I suggest looking for a Kelly XL, which is a nicer Kelly than a KE-3.

It should fit just fine. IIRC, they have the same heel width. You probably will have to shim it to get the thickness just right, but it should be an easy swap.

Indeed it does. There seems to be a handful of people around here, that think its a 22 fret model.

I've wondered as well... hm...

I think you don't need to change it, but you probably can't lock the locking nut because you don't have fine tuners on the bridge...

But I'm not sure, I've never used a floyd and barely understand how they work, so don't rely on me... [img]images/icons/wink.gif[/img]

You could use a neck from a DKMGT if you can get hold of one. It has no lock-nut, but a reverse headstock, plus those little pirahna teeth inlays. =)

I think switching the necks should work fine, it'll look really cool too, kinda like that King V Bucket Head used too use.
