Hi. I was looking at the DKMGs and they seem real nice. Any of you have one/had experiences with them? How do they play/feel.

Re: DKMG - Your experiences w/it
I have a DKMGT (the string-thru version) and I love it.
The neck feels awesome, really smooth and fast.
It has the fastest neck of all imports I've ever played. Nice access to all frets, too.
It has a really nice unplugged sound due to the archtop.
The EMG HZ pickups are not that good, IMO... they are quite decent when combined with the turbocharger, but they don't cut it on their own.
Too weak, sterile and muddy.
I changed them for the SD JB/'59 combo, and now this guitar sounds way better.
Can't comment on the floyd of course...
I can really recommend this guitar, but you should have some money left to get new pickups eventually.
But the playability is top notch!

Hey Fifth Horseman...Pretty sharp angle on the low e string on your dkmgt.Does it pop off? What string gauges do you use?I trashed my nut trying to modify it for .010-.050 for c# down tuning.Do you know where I can get a replacement?

Re: DKMG - Your experiences w/it
I use .010 to 0.046 strings, and no, the low E string doesn't pop off.
However, I bought that KVX10 only because I needed a decent guitar for my band to put .013 strings on and tune it to B...
... and I didn't want to try that on the DKMGT, since I feared the low E would pop off.
And I'd ask at a normal guitar shop for a replacement nut... I think they know what to do.
