    Concept Models

    What's the deal with the "Concept" models?

    Are they worth anything? A local music store has a small collection of them and they're selling them at seemingly very reasonable prices.

    The Concept Jacksons are not USA made guitars, even though your question is posted in the Jackson USA section. But those guitars were originally released for the 1993 Christmas season. They were met with such success that Jackson decided to continue the line but changed the name to Performer. They were very nice Japanese made guitars, I inherited a JRR-94 from my brother and it is every bit a pro level instrument.

      The Concept JDX-94 is my favorite guitar, period. I own two, unwisely traded away a third, and I'm always watching for them. I haven't played the other Concept models, but the JDX is a great player. If I was ever to have a "signature" guitar of my own, it would be a USA-made version of the JDX.

      Does this shop have a website?

        Here's a pic of one of my Concepts, after some hardware upgrades and custom inlays. It took a bad fall a couple years ago and sustained some neck damage, so I don't use it outside of the house, but it still plays and sounds great.

          What's the major differences between the JDX and JSX Concepts? I have a JSX-94 Dinky body (awaiting a neck) and am really intrigued by the bevelling on it (front especially).

          It's also red. Very red. The kind of red that makes you wanna hit people [img]graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

            Hey, that bridge is cool! It's also the only difference that *I* know of between the JDX and JSX models. This has the thinnest neck I've ever found on a Jackson. I bought both of mine used, and although the necks were the same in terms of profile, the guitar in the pic came with an oiled neck. I like string-thru bridges, but tear up my right hand on TOM posts, so this style is much better.
