Here's an idea...just get a custom pickup made with the chassis that will work for that guitar...it can't be that hard to offset the two stacks on a backplate can it??

Maybe Seymour Duncan could do this??

That sounds like the best option if it can be done.

I think putting 2 single coil sized humbuckers in there would be cool.

Yea, I would feel a little bad about altering the guitar since its so rare, and well mint.

Does the lil SD, 59, JB do the trick for metal ?
I always hear great things about the 59 and JB combo.

Sweet Axe for sure! I have one which is presently going under the knife. I'm crazy like that though, and mine is not that pristine. However I would suggest a JBjr/HotRails combination at the bridge and a cool rails at the neck......it produces great sound with this set up for sure. and I'd leave the active circuit in there, If you don't like it, just remove the battery and use it as a kill switch.
Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!

The Hot Rails is basicaly a Duncan Distortion in a single size pickup with rails instead of poles. CEramic magnet and a similar tone to the DD

Hey Paddok I have a Warrior pro myself the one that Newc spoke of wich He got from charvel 750 & went to Stukka & now is in my hands. It was modded to have a EMG 81 in the bridge & a EMG S in the neck, it's all black with chrome hardware I love this Baby so do what you want if it's for a collectable guitar leave it as original as you can. If it's a player for shows or recording do what you want. Enjoy the warrior Love the Warrior Everyone should own a WARRIOR!
EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!! OK done ranting

I hated Warriors when I first saw them and now I love them. I usually can't stand white guitars but your Warrior is sweet. I played a gun metal gray version at NAMM. Killer guitar. Congrats! Don't alter it. Keep it old school and original.

The only mod I can think of doing for it that I would do would be to alter an EMG to fit in the bridge, slanted style. Sounds great (I have one).

As for what you paid, if it truly looks as nice as your pictures did, you paid a fair price.

Those early Japanese Warriors are great, and I'd rather have one than a NEW USA WR1. It WOULD have hit reserve if the economy were a bit better.

And yes, white is rare for the Warrior Pros. If you don't want it, I'll buy it from you for what you paid +shipping. No lose situation.

"Keep it all original" - UGH! Those Armstrong pickups are the absolute crappiest, nasally, wonkyiest pickups I've ever heard.

Go with a JB/Hot Rails or JB/Lil 59 or Lil SD (the Lil Screamin Demon is tonally similar to the Lil59, but slightly different - better bass I think?)
The JB Jr is far more middy than the full-sized hummer JB, and something like a neck-model Hot Rails or the like which has more bass response is the perfect match. The original (crap-ass) pickups are all identical tonally, so if you use one bridge pickup or both, you're getting the same sound just wired out of phase, and fancy wiring really doesn't help.

Believe me when I say that there's absolutely no harm in modding the guitar, and you'd be a stooge to suffer with those Armstrong rails for the sake of keeping it original. They just plain suck.

If you DO try the Lil' Screamin' Demon and JBjr combination, let me know how it sounds! I've often considered a Warrior-style pickup arrangement if/when I can afford a Custom Shop guitar, and that's what I had in mind.

My Hamer Californian Elite has a slanted PA Trembucker in the neck, and it does not line up properly, just FYI. It's the stock pickup, so I'm wondering why nobody at Hamer ever noticed that. Sounds fine, but defeats the purpose of the Parallel Axis idea I think.

DO NOT BE AFRAID TO MOD THIS GUITAR!!!!!!!! Mine has been modded several times and it now getting SERIOUSLY modded. I'm cutting a new LARGE control cavity for the sustainiac control board, and a cavity for the battery compartment. I swapped the trem for an OFR and the armstrong pickups are LONG GONE!!!! Here's the kicker, my serial # is J00224. Mod the guitar, be happy......you're a player not a collector, right? Do what you want to enjoy it. It's YOUR guitar.

What Xeno said. I prefer the MIJ Warrior Pros to WR1s.
