  • Differences between DKMG and DXMG?

Okay, I've REALLY got the hots for a DKMG after playing a few of them in the local Guitar Center. After reading a bit at Jackson's Website, the only differences I can tell, other than the prices, are these:

DKMG - Carved Top (don't care)
DKMG - Turbo Boost (don't care)
DKMG - More color options (don't care)
DKMG - Pirhana Inlays (cool, but don't care)

Have I left anything out? Most importantly, do they PLAY the same? I haven't played a DXMG in a while.

I think other than what you mentioned, They share the same hardware and such.

I never had a DKMG, but I do have a DK2 as well as the DXMG and to me they pretty much feel the same.

I think the necks for the higher end imports have the same fretwork and neck profile. Dinky's anyway.

I tried them both last night at a local GC. They are both very nice guitars.

The necks felt pretty much the same. I had a little trouble getting used to the arched top because of the way I rest my picking hand. I liked the volume boost and the small inlays, they make the fretboard look "cleaner". After some time with each, the DKMG just had the feel I wanted, the DXMG did not.

I think my next Jackson will be the DKMG.
