• Dinky or Fusion ??? Please help me out!!!

    Hi Folks,
i've bought this guitar used, and the seller didn't know which model it really is.
And i'm still not shure of it after i did some research at jacksonmuseum.com.

Can someone of you guys help me out to identify this beauty?

    Here are some pictures:

    Thanks in advance!

Measure from the nut to the 12th fret, double it, that'll tell you the scale length. If it's 25.5", it's a Dinky. If it's 24.75", it's a Fusion.

I do not believe there was ever a Dinky Professional from the first run, those with ebony boards and mother of pearl logo inlays. That is most likely a Fusion Pro and the pickups appear to be Reflex, is that the case with the pickups? When Fusions with Reflex pickups were put together they did not include the JE-1500 envelope filter but made the control layout like a Soloist. That is most likely a 24 3/4 inch scale Fusion Pro.

hey joe, i had a dinky XL that looked just like that. with the exception of the boost and or extra knob. not sure what you meant by first run, but mine was like a 94 or 95 model. man do i wish i would have never gotten rid of that thing. if only i could turn back the clock.

the pick ups are reflex. so, it´s hard to indentify the babe. i´ll have to check the lenght of the fretboard to be shure, i think. or are there any other ideas out there? thanx!

Best way to tell is the scale length - nut to saddles, or double the distance from nut to 12th or 12th to saddles, whichever. I prefer nut to saddles just in case someone put a short neck on a long body

OK, since those are Reflex pickups it's a Fusion Pro, no doubt. Forget checking the scale length, NO 'original' Pro model 24 fret bolt on was ever made except for the Fusion. 'Original' meaning ebony board, binding, mop logo and sharkfin inlay, or pre 1993.
