• help! all jackson DK-2 owners!

I need a shred axe,i dont care for ibanez rg's because they all seem to have a real thin tone even with better pu's in them?
anyway, the GC i live near does not have any DK-2's in stock for me to try they carry the DXMG,DKMG, and the dx-10, but they can order the DK
I was hoping that DK-2 owners can give me a rundown on the quality, playability of these? like is the fret work real good? how is the tone with real duncans compared to a USA DK? and any other things you can tell me,i would be ordering it from kevin easton so i can get all black hardware

Have you tried the DXMG?

If you did and liked it, thats pretty much the way the DK2 plays.

I've got both and they feel exactly the same, the only real difference can be found in the pups and headstock.

Hardware is the same, neck is the same.

So, in other words.. the DK2 is great!

BTW, both the DXMG and the DK2 stand up to the DK1 in my opinion. Great axes for little money.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">according to jackson the necks are not the same?
dk-2 neck,
NECK DIMENSIONS 1st Fret: .735”, 12th Fret: .810”
dxmg neck,
NECK DIMENSIONS 1st Fret: .775”, 12th Fret: .880”
the DK has a neck that is the same as the wizard II by ibanez in flatness and nut size(43 MM)
the dxmg, has a fatter neck more like the SL-2H

I never really looked at the specs to be honest.

If Jackson says they're different, then they must be.

I'm just going by feel and I'll be dammed if I can tell the difference between them.

I like em both.

Put in perspective, the difference is less than the width of one E-string at the first fret to two at the 12th fret. It's .040 to .070 difference. It would matter to some but not to others, mostly if you have small hands I'd guess.
