810$ Canadian for one, good deal or no? It would be black. I would get a KV-2 but I don't want a floyd. And I don't have 4600$ dollars.

Are on the West or East coast?

That price sounds about right for something in Toronto.. only about 3 sources for Jacksons in the entire GTA

(I know, some stores "claim" to carry em, but I never see any beyond the JS series)

Out West, in Vancouver I think you have better choices.

The Cdn dollar is pretty strong right now, deals to be had buying from Americans. Even with Taxes, brokerage + exchange.. you'll come out ahead if you shop right.

I'd NEVER buy a Jackson from a Cdn dealer, I usually don't buy any guitars from em period.

Why.. price is a big one, and attitude.. I think Canadian Music stores suck, I've had great experiences buying from Americans, new and used.

Ebay and Online retailers are the way I go.. purchased 7 axes this way in just under a year.. no problems, no hassles.

$810 sounds a little bit high to me. I can’t remember the exact price but I know that Steve’s music in Toronto had them for under $700. I’m with 2loud though, check out ebay and some dealers from the states. You will likely be able to get a KVX10 at a lower cost than buying from a Canadian shop, even after exchange, shipping and brokerage fees.

Also, be careful if you're going to buy an older model KVX10. Some of the X series guitars were made in India (I'm not sure if the KVX10 was or not) make sure you get a Japanese made one.

Steve's has KVX10's on occasion, they usally only have one on hand. They always seem have a lot of dinkys on hand but usally only one of any of the pointy models on hand. I did try one out last spring when I was looking for a hard tail. I didn't like it, something about it just felt cheap, maybe it was an older Indian model.

Congrats! I bought a Model 5a a while ago for $325 cnd. I think you will really like your model 5, they are very good quality guitars for what they sell for.
