Re: Finished KS2 Project

Mine is trans-blue 100% stock.

A "racing yellow" KS2 body went on the bay for $100 recently.

Go for the gold! get a DK-1 neck and put it on there. I don't really care for the reverse headstock on mine either.

The DK-2 neck goes really well with a lot of imports

good point.
now why doesn't jackson just make KS2 exactly like that in the picture? it'd be $30 more than the import kelly, big deal!

Apparently they didn't sell well enough.

Re: Finished KS2 Project

I meant with a regular head stock.
the original ks2 looks weird because the reverse head stock, imho.

IMO they won't sell well enough with either headstock.

is it possible to get a bolt-on usa made KellyStar under 2000?
I mean, basically a DK1 with a different body shape.
gawd, please say yes. that will be my graduation gift to myself.

Re: Finished KS2 Project

Well the Custom Shop will do that....but I'm not sure on the price...maybe 2500 at the cheapest?

Why do you want a bolt on?

If you're a cheapskate, how about getting a used RR1 (neckthru) and glue on some extra horns?

Or, if you really want a USA bolt on, there's a RR2 in the Classifieds

Here are a few more pix as requested. I believe these originally came with chrome hardware. I had planned on going with gold but really liked the way the black looked with this flame.

Floyd Rose II

Bridge: Dimarzio Super Distortion

Another shot of the DK2 Neck

You gotta flip the Super Distortion so it matches.

It will not effect the sound at all.

Anyway Looks killer !
