I'm wondering how to order a Jackson Stars Custom Bass guitar. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Start there.

Here's what the Semi-Custom Order Form looks like:

Here's the original form:

That's for a Semi-Custom - take a basic model and add a few changes.

I can read what it says, but I don't understand how that system works.

I'm not sure how (or if) the custom system applies to bass...

I personally recommend Ishibashi over Ikebe (I've gotten quotes on the same thing from both of them, and Ikebe would have charged more), so you might drop them an e-mail and see if they can help you with it. Let us know how it goes!

The JacksonStars guitar models are divided into two primary models: J1 and J2.
For the specs that set these models apart, click here and select a guitar model:
http://www.jacksonstars.com/top.html

Whatever has a line through it on the Semi-Custom form is either a standard feature of that model (flame maple tops for the J1, upcharge for the J2), or is not available for that model as part of the semi-custom system, but may be available only for true Custom Shop models (such as streaked ebony).

The bass line only has three models - Concert, Chris Beattie sig, and Kelly. There used to be a Rhoads. I don't know if they do offer semi-custom options for the basses, or if it's only Custom Shop. You'd hafta ask Ishibashi or Ikebe-Gakki.

Re: Jackson Stars

Full-out Custom = Get whatever you want (I'm assuming - I don't think anyone's translated the Custom Shop form)

Semi-Custom = Pick from a list of available options to enhance a standard production model but not pay over $2000 for a simple headstock direction change, pickup config, or color change (something we've been trying to get Jackson to do for quite a while on the USA and imports)
