they dont look too bad for what I want (a double humbucker strat style, just for playing around the house and whatnot.) Would it be comparable to anything else?

Hmmm...well, these aren't bad for a beginner guitar, but if you're already a guitar player, I'd recommend the JS30 instead.

There are mainly two things I (personally) don't like about the JS10/20:

1) They have a non-locking trem.
2) They're built in India (usually means uneven quality).

Not even under the most forgiving of definitions could a JS1/DX1 be considered decent. A JS30 is about $50-75 more and about a hundred times the quality.
