What is this "Cedaro" you keep referring to?

This topic is confusing enough without you adding extra vowels here & there!

Shame about the Indian manufacture, though

You know, that import Charvel Star I had was made in India, and the body wood shredded like mahogany when I drilled the 3rd hole - I wonder if that was Cedro as well
I know cedar and mahogany have a similar density and color, so maybe it was cedro
If so, these might not be bad guitars - especially if those pickups are the same as the ones they used in the Star
If the body's good, just put a better neck on if ya need to

Ron didn't you do this one time ? wouldn't the made in india neck be a different size than the japan ones ? I know the old kx10d I had [the bastard blue kelly] totally blew the neck was fatter the neck joint was different ect ect ect than my ke3r that I so wonderfully love .... and the trem was kinda tin foil looking as well and the paint you could have sprayed it at home . maybe its just all in my head lol //Steve

I had a 2003 gibson melody maker and it was made of spanish cedar.Very nice very hard great tone too!! The grain looks close to mahogony.I wouldn't worry about the body wood if thats what they are making the MII Jacksons out of.If gibson uses it on their USA guitars it has to be ok.
Really? well screw Mark Twain.

I also played a MII Rhoads just earlier this week, and was pleasantly surprised at its playability.

The MIJ DK2S that was right besides it was acoustically more lively, has better "wood" resonance, and more sustain, but it's also twice what the MII Rhoads cost.

I didn't plug in, but for the price, it's definitely a decent guitar.

My first jackson was a js- whatever dinky made in india. Anyway i had a great idea to strip it down and just oil finish it... WRONG, the Indian cedro is shite- it honestly looked like layers of cardboard glued together mang... smelled kinda nice, lol. But i was horribly disappointed.
