SISde note: I think The Japanese "company name" is Chin Su Gakki ("Chin Su Guitars") or something to that extent... but IIRC they´re wholly Jackson owned...

Like the import Jacksons?. My first Jackson that gave me the bug was an Import. A 92 Stealth Pro in trans burgandy burst with a flame maple top and stock reflex classic pups in it. And an ebony board with the best neck ever.
I still wanna find a warrior pro and a soloist pro. I already have the Kelly.

Its been a while since I posted, But I picked a Jap Jackson Performer with the reverse Headstock, early 90's model, 24 frets and this guitar is one of the best I have ever played. Christmas present to myself

However, I once got word from a reputable source that some of the neckthrough higher end JacksonStars models are built in the USA shop and finished in Japan, and some are built in Japan and finished in the USA shop.
I'd love to know which ones are which.

About 2 years ago, I was shooting da shit with a Japanese band using the studio next door and their player had a couple of Grover Jacksons soloists and they all had "Made in USA" under the name script.

Re: who makes MIJ jacksons?

I have both new and old - a new DK2 and older Charvel Fusion Deluxe, and a pair of Jackson Professional Fusions. They are all great axes and well worth the money.

The DK2 doesn't feature ebony or MOP, but the fretwork is outstanding. The JT580LP has the "bubbling chrome" issue. Alder body sounds great (my early 90's imports are all basswood). Paint looks great (metalic purple that changes based on lighting) and goes really good with the red rosewood. The HB102B sounds great to me, the singles are straty sounding like they should be, but I have a MIM axe and don't need the hum. I might swap the singles out for some good stuff - this axe deserves it, but I really like the Duncan Designed humbucker (flame suit ON!).
