  • how can i tell WHERE my kelly was made?

I have a Ke-3 that i bought in 2000. it doesnt have the shiny chrome hardware, but the dull silver/grey stuff. 9653577 is the serial number on the backplate.

anyone have any idea if this is japanse, korean or indian?

Japanese. The hardware is satin chrome. It was used around that time on several Japanese models. DK2, PC3, DR7, KE3, and some others I think. The seven-digit serial number indicates Japan, Indian guitars have 8 digits, and the very small number of Korean guitars, IIRC, also have 8 digit numbers (only a small number of the Performer series was made in Korea before production was halted).

If you need any more info, fire away.

                    anyone knows:
                    1. what´s the difference between performer kellys with or without the "PS-6T" writing on the tussrod cover?
                    2. is the first 2 numbers of the serial-nr the production-year?
                    thanks andy
