• Yet another NASL

A friend recently got me a NASL from Japan. I could keep it a secret so far, but now I thought it's about time to post some pics Nice guitar, the only thing I hate is that "Stars" behind the Jackson logo

Somebody recently said that the NASL has the same body as the SLS. Actually that's not the case. The body contours are similar, but the back is totally different.

I paid 130.000 Yen which is currently 950 Euros or 1120 US-Dollar. But I still expect an invoice from the customs office. I expect they'll charge me another 20%.

The color is indeed violin brown, but this Japanese version looks totally different than the VB on the American made guitars.
Thickness of the body is almost 40 mm (on the thickest place) which is a bit mor than 1.5"

Very nice! Is this the J-1(or whatever is top-of-the-line for NASL) version?

              Re: Yet another NASL

By the way does that also mean that it is thicker than an SLS and thus can accomodate a Floyd? Theoretically I know this one has a TOM.

                      that's stunning.
man, they don't import models like these to protect the USA shop and USA made models are too expansive to compete with other brands.

I suggested "Not Available SoLoist" before...

...but apparently it is "New Arch-top SoLoist".

                          Re: Yet another NASL

                          Yup - New Archtop SoLoist

                          And that IS sweeeeeet

Given the ebony board and multi-layered binding, I'd say it was the top-end J1 model, which is also available with a Schaller, so it's definitely thick enough for a Floyd (32mm block).

And that's a very good price for it as well, especially shipping it to Germany

I think that price is great for a NASL J-1. Wow.

Beautifully done! I think its cool to have the "Stars" after the Jackson, you don't see that as often.
