The JDX-94 Concept!



I paid well under $300 for it back in the late `90s and put a Duncan JB in the bridge; the hardware and inlays were "just for looks". Last night, I finally took it out of the house for the first time since cracking the headstock a couple years ago, and jammed with my band through a Peavey Classic 50 tube combo. I'm having to rethink all of my negative comments about the JB, because it was sounding fantastic! String-thru hardtail, 24 frets, and the thinnest neck I've ever played.

Jackson needs to bring this guitar back so I don't have to custom-order one. [img]graemlins/idea2.gif[/img]

It also had a JB at the bridge, and sounded really good.
The JDX actually is a good guitar with a great neck!
I might replace mine with a Charvel 475 though...

The bridge is my favorite part, you goober! Well, aside from the neck...

A pity that the JDX on eBay is in Europe. I used to have one in that finish and traded it for an AT2T (which I sold), which I regret. My other JDX is getting refinished at the moment, and has a Screamin' Demon instead of a JB, which sounds surprisingly good in a basswood body. I wouldn't mind another one though, to experiment with yet another bridge pickup.

I have one of these.

I got it for £129 secondhand in the store in my home town. They said they put it in the window so I would see it and be drawn in - the crafty beggars!

It needs set up and I would LOVE to tune it down to C but I don;t think the neck will take it - does anyine have any opinions on this idea?
