I've got a trem/locking nut question for anyone with a Stealth. Over the fall and winter, I accumulated most of the pieces I needed for my project Stealth. I bought a used JT580LP trem (current style), and ordered a brand new R3 locking nut from Carvin. Since I was taking another guitar to my local tech, I asked him to take a quick look at the Stealth parts to see if he could see anything I might have missed. The locking nut screws from the R3 are too big for the existing holes in the neck (neck was from a Stealth EX, nut was removed), and would sit too high for the low-profile trem.
Not having another Stealth to compare mine too, I don't know if they came equipped with the "modern" JT580LP, or the older Schaller-type model with a thicker baseplate, nor can I verify that they originally used an R3 nut. Can anyone confirm which trem and locking nut came on the Stealth, and which locking nut I should be using if not the R3?
