  • Question for Stealth owners.

I've got a trem/locking nut question for anyone with a Stealth. Over the fall and winter, I accumulated most of the pieces I needed for my project Stealth. I bought a used JT580LP trem (current style), and ordered a brand new R3 locking nut from Carvin. Since I was taking another guitar to my local tech, I asked him to take a quick look at the Stealth parts to see if he could see anything I might have missed. The locking nut screws from the R3 are too big for the existing holes in the neck (neck was from a Stealth EX, nut was removed), and would sit too high for the low-profile trem.

Not having another Stealth to compare mine too, I don't know if they came equipped with the "modern" JT580LP, or the older Schaller-type model with a thicker baseplate, nor can I verify that they originally used an R3 nut. Can anyone confirm which trem and locking nut came on the Stealth, and which locking nut I should be using if not the R3?

    Re: Question for Stealth owners.

The original (and real) Stealth Pro guitars were made from 1991 through early 1993. You can tell them since they have 22 fret ebony boarded necks with genuine mother of pearl dot inlay and mother of pearl Jackson logo inlay. And they used the Schaller JT-590 trems with an R3 nut. Later variations of the Stealth are out of my realm of knowledge though, and the JT-580 was never on the originals...

I have both an old 92 Pro and a 95ish EX
both have the R3 nut and the trem on the EX is the JT580LP. Time period correct for mid to late 90s. Jacksons.
