What's the general concensus on how the Soloist Professionals from the early/mid 90's compare to the old Charvel Model 6s or the current Soloist imports like the SL3? Barring conditions and new vs. used concerns, which is more desireable and why?

Re: Soloist Professional vs ?
I don't see how anyone would prefer the new Soloist Pro or the old Charvel Model 6's over the original Soloist Pro. Not only was the Soloist Pro fitted with an ebony fingerboard, it had a Jackson active electronics system. Genuine mother of pearl sharkfin and logo inlays too! They were extremely close to the USA Soloists of the time. The older Charvel Model 6 had the JT-6 or Kahler Pro trem, which to me aren't as nice as the Schaller JT-590 on the Soloist Pro. Today's Soloist Pro lacks the originals' neck/headstock binding, better tremolo, etc."Got a crazy feeling I don't understand,
Gotta get away from here.
Feelin' like I shoulda kept my feet on the ground
Waitin' for the sun to appear..."

Re: Soloist Professional vs ?
I basically consider Soloist Pros to be interchangeable with USA Soloists, except for the price tag. There may be a small quality difference, but then even individual USAs will have small quality differences, so I'm not sure that's a factor.
If you replace the JT-6 and don't mind a rosewood fretboard, a Model 6 is every bit as good a guitar as a Soloist Pro, or probably a USA Soloist, for that matter. For me, the cheap plastic inlays and junky JT-580 trems ruin the SL-3, which otherwise would be a fantastic value.
