• Dinky ID help, yes another

Have as anyone seen one of these before? I was told it was a Limited Edition Mahogany body. I think its about 3-4 years old althought the serial number starts with 96. Satin hardware, low profile trem, Duncan design pups. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

That guitar pictured is a DR3 with its toggle switch and JT580LP trem... and the trans finishes on those were on mahogany bodies. The regular colors were made of poplar with flame maple veneers.

Din't the DR3 have direct mounted pickups? Maybe a DR-6?

I'm fishing at this point, I'm not 100% sure and I've got my files for the MoAIP inaccessable at the moment.

Ah, yeah, the DR3 did have direct-mount pups. Hmm, maybe some didn't? Strange.

The DR6 had 22 frets and was string-thru.

Does the serial numbers on these imports give us any info? I know that the US made guitars serials numbers do. Does Jackson keep any records on the Limited Edition imports? For example the 35 white ones we just bought. It doesn’t seem to me that an LE could hold any value if you can’t prove that it isn’t a Frankenstein guitar. Please correct me if I am wrong.

It looks like a newer DX10D. I've seen them in stores, they now have the JT580 and the reversed sharkfins like the picture shows.

They also have those Duncan designed pickups.

The DX10s don't have the satin chrome AFAIK though.

Scotty, how many digits is the serial #?

AFAIK, recent MIJ Jacksons have 7 digit serials that begin with 9. My 2004 KVX10 is 970xxxx

That is why I bought it. I wanted a Model 88, but only paid $200 for this one. The Model 88 has the black hardware which it thing looks better than the satin.

Is it the pic or is the lower horn shaped like a fusion? My 2001 DR3 looks similar, but the finish is wrong and the upper horn is out of shape. The fret board is diff too.
