Tekky so are the baseplates similar so as to swap in a real OFR wouldn't require routing.

It's relatively the same deal as before. You can still get a Floyd in there, but the routes don't match. It's all cosmetic, but if I make a change to something, I'd prefer that it look like it were still original.

just curious. i've seen how MOP inlays degrade. they become dull and lose reflectivity. having never owned a guitar with maple board, are black inlays supposed to last longer or do they degrade at the same rate?

the black inlays are plastic and I bet they have a finish over them... so they'd be just like black dots on a strat with a maple board I'd say..


By the way-- what's this inferno red finish we've been seeing on the spec sheets? Is it a super bright red?

if you'd seen the state of my friend's usa fender strat.. no i don't have any pix. perhaps i should ask him how he keeps it. the maple fingerboard board has crowned too.. ick!
